We're back! Both good and bad things about that. I love home because it's home, but the beach provides something different, which is much needed, even with all the work involved. The trip was very nice. Relaxing in some ways and busy as heck in other ways, but that's understandable...Eight kids remember? A guy at the beach was like "you have 8 kids at the beach....I'd go crazy." I get that....we're living it...(it's not that bad--well, there are those moments of crazy, high stress levels....no one knows when and where--however, we've got some pretty darn good kids on most days {thank you to the nice people at the beach for noticing...it helps to remind me we're doing ok with the parenting thing}, but needless to say it is undeniably busy...sunscreening, finding bathing suits, lifeguarding, hauling lots of stuff every day back and forth, etc.) But I'll take being at the beach any day no matter how it is (unless it's raining and cold--that wouldn't be good). We had great weather most of the entire time. The kids were sad to leave. They always are. There's always next year....hopefully.
Unpacking....mowing the yard (yes on sunday....sorry about that but that's the way it is when your grass is a mile high).....saying hi to the horses (Bunny didn't look like she feels good...I had to go get her at the pond where she was drinking and then she slowly, sadly followed me back to her food--I think she missed us)....the dogs were so excited when they came home from the kennel, howling and barking, glad to see us---poor things probably thought we'd abandoned them....Ben's parakeet and the chickens are still alive (thanks to their caretakers while we were away) and ran to me for some leftover cracker crumbs we cleaned from the messy van.....going through the piles of mail....had a little water problem while we were away....fun stuff when you just walk in the door...cleaning out the cat food in the water bowl....how'd that happen anyway?....maybe raccoons did it....mopping the front porch where the cats ate....so who said Sunday was a day of rest....none here that's for sure...not even when you're sick. Enjoying being tanned in Oct. It's a shame it's going away so soon.
Back to reality. Thank god for escape.
I'll post some pictures soon. I have a lot to go through.
