for an apple.....she's 24 now which is old....for a horse. Her eyesight is getting worse I think and she gets around a little slower but if she knows there's an apple or pear waiting on her, she can get moving pretty fast. These pictures, taken before our vacation, Emily was picking apples from our tree before the wind blew it down. And tonight we went over and gave them some pears, but they looked so good, the kids wanted to bring some of them home. The kids love watching the horses. I do too. There's something peaceful about it....I like country life, contrary to popular belief. Not attempting to be anybody, just ourselves, accepted or not, trying to enjoy life. Not always easy or peaceful....but I'll take it when I can get it!
Rain is getting older too--the rescue pony we took in a few yrs. ago and she's happy to be here....all the food she wants for the rest of her life. Ben loves his animals (unfortunately we're down to one chicken now and i don't think she's doing too well (she's missing feathers and looks like she got the worse end of a fight)...but they had a good life while they were here and it was fun watching them....we'll miss their funny ways.....other things we won't miss....but the whole experience overall made some good memories). Savannah's fascinated by the horses....she sat and watched them quietly on daddy's lap this evening while we fed them. And she hardly ever sits still unless she's watching one of her fav shows or drinking a bottle, so that says a lot about being peaceful.
