Monday

Last week was a strange week. This one is going is to be less strange hopefully. We'll see....could go either way--lol. Anyway.....it was nice outside today. Jonah, Livy, Audrey, and me went down to feed the horses, braided Rain's mane, brushed their fuzzy winter coats. A new neighbor was moving in over the weekend. That house has been vacant so long, so it's nice to have someone around again.
Laura's excited about Taylor Swift in a few days! She's been lovingly making a scrapbook for her for the past couple of weeks. If I was her, I'd treasure it....Laura put a lot of love there. She's so excited to go! I'm happy for her because it will be a memory of a lifetime. It's fun to be 13 and have happy memories.
Savannah's not walking yet, but she sure is getting around, meaning she's pulling things in the floor and discarding toys everywhere. Well, you know, mobile babies are not known for keeping a clean house:) But no more formula, no more baby food.....she's growing up. I'm ok with that...sometimes not so sure..but it's time to move forward. She's such a funny little girl.
We watched some Christmas shows last night.....gosh....that year went by fast. We're (the parents) really not ready for Christmas, but a tree and lights might be just what the dr. ordered. Holidays can be overwhelming and exhausting if not careful. I like the way it was meant to be, but the way it's become is not the way it was meant to be. Anyhow, I've been picking up a few gifts--more handmade stuff that they can keep. Too many toys/stuff can be overwhelming; most toys are cheaply made and over-priced. When we were little, things actually lasted for more than a couple of weeks. Anyway....it was fun hearing Rudolph while I was trying to put some new curtains up. My old ones, some vintage feedsack ones I bought when we moved in the house, were getting holey from little hands over the years, pushing them back and looking out the window at the birds. But I'll keep them tucked away for the memories.
Things change and while I don't necessarily always like it, that's the way it is. The tricky part is dealing with it without losing your way. But I think it'll be fine.
I cut our dog's hair the other day. She really needed it and we saved about $30 doing it at home...double that for 2 dogs. I figure we've saved enough on people haircuts to take a beach trip or two. It pays to do things yourself sometimes if you're into cutting hair. It's actually relaxing for me, and save money too...that's a good thing.
Another Monday almost over.....tomorrow a visit with someone I haven't seen for awhile, who's seen us through alot. This should be interesting.....
