?

you never know how the day's gonna go. In this house you have to be ready for anything....so the other morning I got up happy, talkative, good night's sleep so it was starting off good.....then Savannah toddled over to the school desk, grabbed Ben's orange juice (he looked like he was running in slow motion saying noooooo Savannah) but before he could get there, she swung it around all over the place.....sticky oj everywhere....and then I looked over what is that under the table? Livy explained the cat got sick. ok...good....anything else.... just the ordinary....dogs stealing food when the little kids leave their plates unattended, adorable, cute baby on her tippy toes (she just learned to walk--yay! in a way....in another way lets just say it's way busier)....going from room to room, taking things off tables, ripping magazines, flipping trash cans over (between her and the dog I don't know what we're going to do--lol--and putting them up high....getting one with a lid, etc. doesn't work either...we've tried), trying to keep her from getting her feet entangled in my computer cord (don't need to spend another $500 for another one)....and you have to be very, very careful with puppy in the morning when we try to get her outside, because she'll pee all over the floor from excitement or whatever, and then she'll run to another room jump on whatever and pee some more so we have to go through certain steps (don't approach her too quickly, don't make eye contact, pretend like you don't want her to go outside.....things like that) to keep this from happening unless I want to be washing sheets again and cleaning floors. today we were excited at first....the kids saw a cute black cat outside, so they went to investigate. I go out to see the cute black kitty because I really want one (I know I don't need it but I still want one...don't mean i'll get it though)....then Audrey announced the dreaded statementJonah let Peaches out(for the 15th time).....so I run to the hill and sure enough Peaches is across the road. I tell her get back over here, but she's hot on the cat's trail or freedom or whatever and runs across dangerous 757....I'm in my pink slippers hollering for my previously-obedient-but-no-longer-dog who's apparently now deaf too (reminds me of my old dog Snoopy)...anyway....she runs back across the road and I was just near panicking, hoping a car wouldn't come because I didn't want to see my dog get hit. Then hear a car coming down our neighborhood street...going too fast....but the driver saw me abnormally standing by the road and then saw Peaches and slowed down....good thing because my dumb, but very-much-loved-and-needed dog ran right out in front of the car. I really don't need to see her killed right now....I won't take that well. anyway...after chasing the dog, we forgot all about the cat.
so life ain't perfect around here...normal but not perfect....the perfect little family. I hate when people say that...in a patronizing way....do they seriously think that or because we have stair-step kids....sometimes seen neatly in a line in a photo or whatever, homeschool, and a white picket fence think we think that? no.....we don't....just so you know.
And I'm sure there are some perfect families or at least close to it (as shown by some websites out there), but rest-assured, we're not that...not even close, and I wouldn't want to be--too much pressure to uphold that kind of image)

everything's calm now....the house is somewhat organized, Savannah's napping, it's Friday! i'm looking forward later to reading a great book Still Missing....actually keeping me interested...I still have 2 from the beach semi-read, Elin Hildebrand is usually pretty good, but one is not so intriguing or I'd have finished it by now. And I've got some movies to watch...Shutter Island being one of them...and Vacancy showed up in the mail yesterday...i've seen it before but wanted Kenny to see it too. And speaking of calming atmospheres, we had fun visiting with friends on New Years eve....like someone there said everyone needs to get away from it all sometimes. Exactly. Have a good, relaxing weekend!
