just some thoughts

Will we ever learn not to throw chicken scraps across the fence for our cat? He can't eat stuff like this in the house or inside yard because the dogs want it too, so we have to throw it over the fence if he wants to eat in peace. But our dog dug another hole trying to get to it. I don't guess we'll ever figure this multi-animal-eating issue out where the dogs and cats fight over food. I know Daisy won't, because she won't let poor Harry have anything without getting involved, but I don't think she wants to end up on the other side of the fence with all the scary things she might face. She did it once before and poor thing couldn't wait to get back in where it was safe.

How do people who don't have kids seem to know everything about how to raise them? it'll be fun sitting back and watching when they actually do go through a pregnancy and birth the baby (huge feats in themselves), let alone start the long, hard child-rearing journey ahead to see how they handle it. so...that'll be interesting. Then maybe their learned insight will be more helpful....and they might find out they don't know as much as they think they do.We all have to live and learn if we give it some time, but it takes a little life experience along the way. We've still got a lot to learn and that's enough for me to keep up with.

We (the parents) haven't been to church in awhile......well....the reasons are many....but the kids have been going and having fun...that's important for sure. Bran and Laura went to youth group last night, Ben & Emily went to awanas at another church, the 3 amigos (Livy, Audrey, & Jonah) stayed home with me, and Savannah rode with Daddy in the big van. She loves riding. She has a perfect view of everything and sticks her little chin up in the air so she can see and watches with great interest on what's ahead of her. Since I didn't have anything better to do, I decided to do a mega-vacuuming, basically every corner and baseboard on the bottom floor, couch cushions, etc., sucking up numerous toys, clogging the hose up with debris, and pulling the extension cord out so many times after getting it stuck on things as I made my way though the house. And what i meant by nothing better to do....obviously we have plenty of things going on at all times (with the exception of the middle of night unless a child needs tending to or we hear something outside that wakes us up--I always find it interesting when Kenny hears a noise...it better not be anybody out to do something bad or else they're in big trouble.....or I can't sleep and have to find something to keep my mind occupied whether I want to or not when I'd much rather be asleep)....but we have to pick and choose what needs to be done, how much time is involved, how important is this right now, etc. so the bathrooms needed cleaning too and since there were no emergencies at the moment, I figured it was a good time to tackle that. I'd rather been reading my book....haven't read one word for about a week now....but it's waiting on me wherever it got put when I last had it, carrying it around with the intention to read, and my magazines are piling up again. These things help keep me sane. But I guess cleaning and vacuuming can do that too.

Everybody seems to be laying off workers. Stores are closing everywhere. It can get depressing driving by and seeing empty buildings. I thought the president was supposed to fix everything. The country seems to be in a mess. Glad I didn't vote for him. Also glad I'm not the one having to fix things or clean the mess up. Everybody's always surprised that there's work out there for the family business, but i'm happy it is, in this economy. Still stressful though thinking about what can happen if one little thing goes wrong, but it's good not to think that way:)

Brandon's thinking about doing a yr at community college, probably starting with some classes next yr and then transferring to a university....still thinking Liberty--in fact another CFAW is coming up soon. it was so much fun last time he wants to do it again.

I'm glad for the majority of the time,we have good kids on most days...not all great all the time (of course nobody does that)...basically a normal mixture of both which I guess balances it out. The little ones are still learning the ropes, but considering we've got a lot of children we're pretty lucky in the kid dept. Thankfully none of them are too spoiled except for Savannah (which being the last baby is understandable) ....because spoiled children turn into spoiled adults...almost impossible to do with 8 kids because they have to share so much and realize pretty quickly the world doesn't revolve around them all the time. That's not a bad thing to learn. The manicurist lady who had lots of opinions about things during our visit said if I'd had kids like hers we'd only had two and I must have a good husband too (very true). She said she didn't get so lucky. Speaking of our manicure, the polish is actually staying on pretty good. I was surprised...only one finger is peeling off so far. Now that's some good polish! i'm not sure i'd waste the money on a pedicure again though...at least not at the place we went. Maybe some highlights for the hair at some point but i'll probably do it myself like always...so much cheaper.

We saw a really nice, big vehicle that could replace the van. it probably won't work out though. we'll see.
Time to go to the dentist again soon....good because I think I lost a filling....something doesn't feel quite right.

Got up very early this morning since I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep thought might as well stay up....why waste time trying to do the impossible.

Let's see....time to eat a late lunch....Savannah will be waking up soon and then we'll be back in full-swing action....I just get a kick out of her walking on her tippy toes. it's the cutest thing! But she sure keeps us on our toes. Have a good day!
