It snowed. The younger kids like it. I can remember when it was fun to play in the snow. It's so wet and messy though when you're the mom and dad, dealing with the clothes, especially when they want to go out more than once, and when the power's off and you can't dry things. The snow is pretty before it starts to get ugly and muddy.....very messy. That's why I love spring. the power was out for 15 hrs. so that was fun.not. Probably wouldn't understand if you don't live here....the more people in the house...the harder it is. but the good thing is we have a generator to keep things going....not ideal but better than nothing at all....at least we got to watch a movie late last night after the kids went to bed. Jonah slept in the girls room because he didn't want to sleep in a dark room by himself. I understand that. dark and quiet is not my favorite thing either. Audrey, Jonah, Livy, and Emily are happily playing over at grandma's today....so that's a good thing. Two of the neighbor kids are over hanging out with Ben, playing video games. I'm just glad the power's back on. Who would want to go back to a time where there was no electricity? I just don't get it.
It was sad about a couple of guys we knew of who were killed last week. we just saw them about 6 wks. ago, smiling and laughing, having a good time, and now they're gone, just like that. It's been very disturbing to me. Any time children lose a parent so young it's upsetting when the kids are left behind.
Kenny made me dinner Thurs night. i was away on Valentine's so we had to postpone. The kids liked their gift we gave them and I liked theirs they gave me. They make such pretty things for us. The only thing is they left the glue gun on....which shut the breaker down on that side of the house...I was wondering why our internet wouldn't come on all night. Good thing the house didn't burn down....it's so easy to leave something and forget about it. And we went out Sat. night for dinner....so it was nice to be able to do that.
I found some cute sandals and can actually fit into a size 7 shoe again. I guess you lose weight in your feet too....or maybe the shoe's sized differently. anyway, can't wait to wear them. I've had to restock some clothes since so much weight lost from last fall to now. It's not as easy to put it back on either, like some people think...not that I want to regain it all, maybe a little bit though. I guess it's more of an appetite thing.
It's always good to have someone to talk to.....people who have no agenda...not interested in getting information and then passing it around, turning it into gossip. Sometimes it's difficult to trust. You never know what and why people want from you. It's the hardest thing finding someone who only want the best with no strings attached. but it's nice when you do. I'm lucky to have those in my life I can say that about.
Poor puppy was shivering this morning when she woke up. No wonder...the groomer shaved her down to a summer haircut instead of winter. I like her fluffy and warm this time of year. But she did have a lot of knots so I guess she didn't have a choice. Maybe I'll buy her a sweater but she probably won't wear it. She won't even go for a walk on a leash,so I doubt she'd wear clothes. I won't even waste the money.
It's really quiet in here now. Kenny's working on some job pricing; the dishwasher's working in the background; puppy's chewing her bone; Savannah's still napping; the kids who are here are quietly playing video games. You would never know there were 6 kids. I guess I should take this time to get something done....or relax and take a nap; not too many opportunities for that here. But i'm sure I'll find something else to do. Every time I try to take a nap, it just doesn't work out...so maybe i'll read or check Brandon's Vietnam work. He's the only one who didn't take school off today. I admire his dedication....he's excited to move to the next level of life. That reminds me...I need to sign him up for the SAT's soon so he can start doing that. See ya later.
